Based on the Alchemical writings of C.G. Jung, Paracelsus,
\nand James Hillman.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As an Ancestral Method of psychological\/spiritual transformation,
\nC.G. Jung gave so much importance to Alchemy<\/b> that he devoted
\nthe last 45 years of his life to studying it, particularly the one
\narticulated by Paracelsus (1493\u20131541).

\n\nEarly on in my life, I purposely chose to follow the wisdom that
\nurges us to study the teachers of our most fundamental teachers.
\nWhat follows is a brief account of what has been my path.

\n\nMy training in Jung\u00b4s Analytical Psychology<\/em> made it relatively
\neasy for me to appreciate the critical value of Alchemical Teachings<\/em>
\nearly on, as something of great value, needed more than ever for
\nmeeting the unprecedented challenges of working creatively and
\nconstructively with the traumas and fears that so much dominate
\nour emotional lives in today\u00b4s so uncertain world.

\n\nI was then fortunate to have been able to study \u201cAlchemical\nPsychology\u201d<\/em>
directly with James Hillman, beginning with my
\nparticipation in the course that he gave at The Dallas Institute
\nof Humanities and Culture in 1982, very aptly called \u201cThe Art
\nof Working with Fire\u201d<\/em>.

\n\nAfter this, I began to imagine my consulting room to be a sort of
\nliteral\/metaphorical \u201ckitchen\u201d<\/em>, where \u201cprima materia\u201d<\/em> \u2013 one\u00b4s
\npassions, fears, challenges, etc. \u2013 can find a \u201ccontainer\u201d<\/em> that
\ncan actually serve to \u201ccook\u201d<\/em>(transform) very stuck places and
\ndestructive habits into pro-active, constructive, creative actions.

\n\nThen, an experience in 1985 led me to unexpectedly recognize
\nhow the Art of Transformation<\/em> that we nowadays call Alchemy<\/em>
\nmostly references the healing and spiritual practices of men and
\nwomen of wisdom during the Middle Ages and early Renaissance
\nin Europe \u2013 but is, in fact, nothing more than a relatively
\nwell-known version of what are clearly Ancestral Healing<\/em>
\nand Spiritual practices alive to this day in what we now
\ncall \u201cCuranderismo\u201d (\u201cShamanism\u201d<\/em>).

\n\nSo-called Shamanic Wisdom<\/em> implies universal and eternal
\ntruths that we also call Archetypal<\/em>.

\n\nGiven that I have spent my life discovering myself by following
\nthe clues<\/em> that life itself keeps putting in my path \u2013 rather than
\ntrying and struggling to achieve some sort of mental plan<\/em> \u2013
\nI naturally began to seek and look out for native women and
\nmen of wisdom in the furthest reaches of the American Continent.

\n\nIn addition to pretty much all of M\u00e9xico, my initiatory experiences
\nhave taken place in the following locations and in more or less
\nthe following sequence: Brazil, Per\u00fa, Ecuador, Argentina,
\nUruguay, and Guatemala. In North America: North Dakota,
\nArizona, and New Mexico.

\n\nMy actual initiation into the Ancestral healing and spiritual
\npractices of Mayan and Zapotec\/Mazatec\/Miztec Curanderos<\/em>,
\nwhich began in 1984 and continues to this day, is what allows
\nme to now share with those of you who are interested in The
\nArts of Transformation<\/em><\/b> a proven METHOD<\/em> that, in my
\nexperience actually\u201cworks\u201d<\/em>.

\n\nI of course always invoke the \u201cspirits\u201d<\/em> that be to guide me
\nin sharing my particular blend of Jung\u00b4s Analytical Psychology,
\na Somatic Consciousness and Awareness based on actual
\nexperience, my understanding of what can accurately be called
\nAlchemical Teachings<\/b><\/em>\u2026 or Ancestral Wisdom<\/b><\/em> \u2013 two
\ndifferent ways of talking about precisely the same thing !

\n\nWhat I love to do, at my 77 years of age, is to share with
\nthose who are interested in \u2013 or in need of \u2013 an approach that
\nunderstands how external (outer) life experiences can be
\nfundamental guides for deep internal<\/em> (inner) self-discoveries,
\nalways at the service of both personal and transpersonal growth.

\n\nAll that I share is what has worked for me to trigger processes
\nof transformation in which destructive behavior patterns are
\nconverted into constructive and creative actions.

\n\nIn fact, my teachings tend to be experiential, which can be
\nquite challenging for the individual interested in developing
\na personal perspective that demands congruence, in both his
\nor her professional as well as personal lives. After all, at the
\nend of the day, we are what we do<\/em> !

\n\nThe Method of Alchemical Psychology<\/em> that I offer blends
\ntheory, called philosophy<\/em> in Alchemy, with a practice,
\nboth based on Universal \/ Archetypal<\/em> principles.

\n\nThe psychological aspect of \u201cthe work\u201d <\/em>involves personal
\nexperience, always taking into account the urgent need that
\nwe have these days for the essential congruence mentioned
\nabove, based on the ancient admonition that above all, we
\nalways want to \u201cpractice what we preach\u201d<\/em>.
\n\nThe spiritual part of the work involves discovering hidden
\ninner resources, ones that help us go beyond ourselves in
\nbreaking bad habits by actually doing things differently, in
\norder to actually be able to get different results.

\n \nIn the language of the Alchemists, it is essential to remember
\nthat \u201cthe work\u201d<\/em> is truly An Opus Contra Naturam.<\/b>

Images are Primary<\/em>.

\n\nModern neuroscience has moved away from the idea that our
\nbrains passively receive information from the world and simply
\ncreate a copy of it. Instead, the prevailing understanding is that
\nour brains are active, predictive machines that construct our reality.

\n\nIn essence, neuroscience now recognizes that the images that
\nwe perceive are not perfect reflections of the external world,
\nbut instead are the brain's best guess, or hallucination<\/em> of
\nwhat is actually out there.

\n\nThis constructed reality is built upon a constant, dynamic
\ninterplay between incoming sensory data and the brain's existing
\npredictive model.

\n\nIn other words, things are as we imagine them to be \u2013 so that
\nwhen we genuinely imagine them to be different \u2026 they truly
\nbecome different !

\n\nThere can be no doubt that \u201cthe work\u201d<\/em> is with The Imagination.

\n\nAnd that the language of The Imagination is IMAGES ! <\/em>

I have found that without a doubt, \u201cworking\u201d<\/em> with the Images in
\nour dreams prepares us for working with the Images in our Lives\u2026<\/em>
\nalways at the service of both orientation<\/em> and transformation. <\/em>

\n\nSince we can say to ourselves that \u201cit is only a dream\u201d<\/em>,
\nwe can allow ourselves to experience things that we fear \u2013
\nor, we think\/believe<\/em>, in our ordinary consciousness, that
\nwe are unable to do.

\n\nIf we can do it in a dream, we have an imprint that can
\ninspire us to do it in our waking lives !

\n\nSo, let us practice \u201cworking\u201d<\/em> with The Imagination by
\nworking with the Images<\/em> in our Dreams.

Sound is the audible aspect of vibration. Vibration is what
\ngives form to all that exists.

\n\nA fundamental property of sound is that it literally has the
\nability to break things open \u2013 the soprano cracking the crystal
\nglass with her high note \u2013 to DISOLVE<\/em> \u2026 as it undoubtably
\nhas to open SPACE<\/em> \u2026 and to give form \u2013 to COAGULATE<\/em>,
\nto give material form to that which is felt, perceived, and
\nexperienced internally, way beyond words.

\n\nSound is an Alchemical Agent<\/em>. And when the sound comes
\nfrom the Human VOICE<\/em> \u2026 its potential for transformation
\nis instantly activated.

We can hide behind our words,
\nbut NOT<\/em> from the sound of our Voice<\/em>.

\n\nWhat we say comes from the mind, HOW<\/em> we say it reveals
\nhow we feel about what we say. Something unconscious.
\nsomething that we do not control is revealed in the sound
\nof our Voice when we say something that matters to us.

\n\nTruly changing how one sounds vocally in relation to
\nsomething important in one\u00b4s life actually shifts something
\nessential in one\u00b4s relationship to that something.
